Where Have You Been My Dear

For few days, I tried to find Nellie and her kittens. Although I can't find them anywhere, I still place some kibbles for them at the usual place. What makes me weird is, everyday the kibbles will be finish by some cat(s). In my mind was the black male cat. But, how come he can eat so much in one day. One day, I placed the kibbles and after few hours, I went to the place and only small amount of kibbles left in the tupperware. I don't know. Hopefully all three of them are in a good shape.

So just now I was waiting for a friend to pick me up. While waiting for him, I placed the kibbles at the usual place. Sitting on the bench and playing Snake Xenzia, what else. My favourite game. Suddenly I saw Nellie came out from the garbage house and was about to cross the road. I called her. When she wanted to cross, suddenly I think that her kittens must be inside the garbage house. Yup they were there. I went there and gave each one of them a packet of wet food. My apartment's garbage house doesn't smell so bad. Just now, there's even no smell at all. I didn't went inside but I fed them beside the garbage house. Like always, the black tabby was the one who will eat the food first. The other kitten watch from afar. I placed one packet of wet food on a piece of used A5 paper and left it there for them to eat peacefully. The kittens really enjoy eating the wet food. Maybe they haven't eat tasty food for a long time, I don't know.

When they finishes their food, I pick up the A5 paper and walk towards the garbage bin nearby the entrance of my apartment. I know, I was at the garbage house. Why I didn't just throw the papers there. Honestly I don't know where to throw inside there. So Nellie followed me. I know she's hungry because I saw she only ate a little portion of the wet food to allow her kittens eat them. So I brought her to the kibbles I left for her and she ate the kibbles. Yes she looks hungry. Pitty cat. I wonder if one tupperware of 400g of kibbles I think is not enough for Nellue, her kittens and the black male cat. Unless there's some other cats there. Then my friend came to pick me up.

Introduction Time For Astro and Grey

Yesterday or should I say twp days ago since it's already 2.20 in the morning, I tried to introduce Astro and Grey together. I placed both of them in a separate cage and placed the cage in front of each other with a safe distance. Astro was good. He did not hiss or growl at Grey. It's just his nose keep on sniffing a new smell; Grey's smell. But Grey, I think he don't like being in a small confine place plus a new male that he met eye to eye, so he keep on meowing. Both Astro's and Grey's fur on their spine raised up. Luckily not their whole body. After two minutes I guess, I placed Grey back inside his room and after that I let Astro out. Sophie wasn't in any cage or carrier, she was at her 'observation tower', observing Astro and Grey. I'm not too worried about Sophie meeting a new cat. Because she will do no harm to the new cat. She just want to have good distance with the new cat. Sooner or later she will be fine with the new cat but not as close as with Astro.

Yesterday I did the same too. Astro tried to reach Grey by taking his hand out of the cage. But I placed them in a safe distance so that they cannot grab each other with their claws. Will try to reduce the distance slowly. I thought today shall be better than yesterday's introduction. I'm not sure whether Sophie or Astro did growl a bit. Sophie wasn't in a cage but she sit nearby Astro's cage. The session last not as long as the first session although the first session is not that long. Nevermine, will try again and again until they can be together or until Grey's adopter pick him up

Nellie and Her Kittens

With the help of Encik's phone, I manage to take a picture of Nellie and her kittens. All of them are very adorable. In the picture, the one who's eating with Nellie is her grey tabby son/daughter and the one under the tree who's already done eating is Nellie's black tabby son/daughter. Maybe it's a boy. Maybe~ This picture was taken few days ago.

Today, after I got home. I saw Nellie and her black tabby kitten walking side by side from the garbage house. Should be I placed their kibbles in the morning but I don't know I'm too lazy to do everything. So when I got back home after went out for awhile, I placed their kibbles.I was wondering where's her other kitten. Should be the other one will follow the mother but s/he cannot be seen. Suddenly a car came and the black tabby was in the middle of the road!!! My heart stop and luckily the driver stops and let the black tabby walk to the side of the road. Phew! Then the black tabby kitten walk towards a car that was park nearby me, I called Nellie to give her food and to attract her kitten to eat together. Then there was the grey tabby kitten. I think s/he was asleep when his/her sibling and mother took a walk. I'm not sure either she's sleepy, have that sleepy eye or she's sick. Hopefully s/he's not sick!! Suddenly I remembered that I brought a sachet of wet food. So I decided to open it and let them have it. I placed the wet food on the cover of a tupperware. Nellie smells it and came towards me. The grey tabby kitten also did but s/he just stood there. When I placed the tupperware cover near Nellie and her black tabby kitten, they really enjoy the wet food. Then suddenly the black tabby kitten bite the tupperware cover and bring it to another place for him/her to eat alone. I think that's a boy. The grey tabby also want to eat the wet food, but the black tabby kitten growl at him/her. Pitty kitty.

After the black tabby kitten finished her food, I took the tupperware cover and called Nellie to eat the kibbles that I already refill in the tupperware that I specially placed for them. Her grey tabby kitten did follow, but s/he follow half way only. Maybe s/he's just shy or scared.

Will meet you guys again tomorrow.. Be safe out there kitties.

So Close Yet So Far

Yesterday I was browsing the blogs that I followed. Some of them haven't been update for years! Then I click this one blog entitled Do More For Cats. I opened the blog and my eyes went to see the blog's url; crimsoncat. I was like is that Crimson as if Crimson where I'm living right now? But I think maybe it it just a coincidence. I browse through the pictures. The blogger post a lot of picture. Then I stop when I saw this one cat. She looks like Callie. But I make myself think that there's many cats having the same look. Another coincidence. But I do have a strong feeling that this is the Crimson where I live right now. And there, I saw a picture of Nellie and the bench outside the entrance to my block. I recognize Nellie's eyes. She have a very beautiful eyes. Wow! I've been following this blog since I have Astro and Sophie which was few months after I move in here. Callie used to have siblings. I'm not sure where her siblings are right now. Based on the picture, many cats used to reside here. Now there's only four; Nellie, her two kittens and also a male black cat. I thought Callie is Nellie's mum, but I was wrong. Nellie is Callie's mum. Nellie's age is probably minimum 5-6 years this year. Wow.. She had gone through a lot. 5-6 years of age for a stray cat is a very long age.

After Grey's adopter pick him up, I want to catch Nellie and her kittens so that I can send Nellie for spaying without her worrying the safety of her kittens. Hopefully everything goes well.

Three generations of kitties.
Callie has been spayed, Grey has been neutered.
Nellie, your turn will be up soon.

Grey Has Been A Very Good Boy

Hello. I've been having problem with my sleeps lately. So this morning, I slept in my room with Grey. Normally I slept at the living room because both of my cats want to have my presence while they sleep. It;s just recently I slept there but when Grey is not around, I sleep in my bedroom with my cats.

I never thought that Grey will sleep with me on the bed when I'm sleeping. But he did. He slept like it's nobody's business. But he know where he should sleep and sleep on that site which is under my arm the whole morning. Very good boy he is. He didn't bite and scratch me today. Phew!!!

This is Grey with his favourite toy stick.

The Shades That Grey Have

Grey used to be a stray below my apartment nearby a Thai restaurant. Sometime last year, I brought him to the vet because he was limping. Since he's already at the vet, why not he get neutered too. So he did. And I released him back to the place where he live. He was very garang when I first brought him to the vet. After sometime, I tried to get near him. I feed him, talk to him, tried to play with him etc. After few months, he knows me and sometimes let me touch him. Although most of the time he will bite and scratch me.

Grey

So one day, for the first time I saw him pee-ing at the sand. For about 5 minutes, he dig few holes to pee. And I was like, maybe he have Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease ( FLUTD ). That's dangerous. I thought the food I gave him makes him having FLUTD. My bad. So I did brought him to the vet. Since he's a stray and the time I saw him urinate was the first time, Grey has been admitted for few days to be monitored by the vets. When the vet and I check on him, the tip of his penis was black in colour. After two days, I came back to the vet and the vet said that Grey don't have any problem urinating. Grey's SG level is kinda low. So the vet wanted to try special food on him. So he stayed in the vet for another one week. Once in a while I did went to the vet to check on him. He was a good boy and the vet assure me that Grey is ready to be adopted by someone.

After that one week, I released Grey back to his usual place but will feed him with the urinary diet the vet gave me. He need to eat the urinary diet kibbles for two weeks and after that, need to check his SG level again. If his SG level is normal, he don't need to eat the urinary diet kibbles again. After few days he came back, I thought, why not I fostered him for two weeks and find an adopter for him in the mean time. So I brought him to the vet to be vaccinated, deworm and microchipped. Inside my house, Grey stayed in my bed room while Astro and Sophie can roam around the house except my bed room.

Grey's IC

At first, Grey know nothing playing cat toys. He even don't know how to mingle with human. Maybe the only way he know is by scratching and bitting. That's why I've been scratched and bit many times while trying to play with him. Day by day, I introduced him with plenty of toys available at the pet shop for him to play. On the first day he was just staring at the toy, don't know what to do. After two weeks, there's plenty of improvement. He still don't know how to use the scratching post. But he did scratched on the base of the scratching post. Funny Grey.

There are few people contact me to adopt Grey. Only one of them, pass the interview. I did some interview so that I will hand over Grey to a reliable family. Not just to give him to any family and then one day he's back on the street again. This lady wanted me to test Grey for FeLV / FiV test first. If both of it are negative, there's high chances her family will adopt Grey. After two weeks Grey has been vaccinate, I brought him back to the vet to test his urine and also his blood for the FeLV and FiV. The results are, both are negative. So he's free from any disease and his SG level went normal again. My concern is just the tip of his penis is still black. The vet said maybe because of injury before this. So far as long he urinate like normal, should be fine.

The plan is tomorrow I will send him to the adopter. But the adopter is having some situation now, if tomorrow cancelled. Maybe later..

Good News About Zoe!!

Last few weeks, I found out Zoe's Petfinder profile. But the name is not Zoe, it's Biscuit. I know it's her based on her picture. The person who make the profile is Eileen Ng. She's an independent rescuer. On the profile stated that Zoe will be spay before sending her to the adopter. So I emailed Eileen about Zoe. Then we agreed to spay her the week after I emailed her. Eileen told me that the time where Zoe is missing, she's probably hiding in the bushes since she was scared with something/someone. Eileen saw when a group of Malay guy holding some stick walking towards that area, Zoe become scared. Maybe, who knows, she's been beaten by them. Poor Zoe.

The day we brought Zoe to the vet, it's not that hard. Zoe like before, when someone placed a collar on her, she will stand there. She wouldn't walk an inch! Yup, that's her. After Eileen hook the leash on the collar, we tried to pull her, but she refused. So we carry her into Eileen's car. She's so scared in the car until she poop. No wonder there's smell inside the car. We went to Hand N Paws vet in Aman Suria where Eileen usually bring the strays for neutering/spaying.

Her weight is 30.7kg!!! She's a fat dog.. Is she really a stray dog? People in the area where she 'live' love her. So she always gets food. The plan is Zoe will be boarded in the clinic for few nights until she's recover and release her back to her place until someone wanted to adopt her.

Around 5 days after we brought Zoe to the vet for spaying, Eileen said Zoe bleed a lot during the surgery since she's fat and become stressful boarded in the clinic. So Eileen will send Zoe to be fostered in her friend's house. Somewhere near my house.

Last Saturday, I visited Zoe!!!! She looks very happy. Her fosterer named Melissa have 3 other dogs who are so friendly!!! What makes me even more happy when I went to her house is that 2 of her dogs are Golden Retriever. I love Golden Retriever a lot!!! We went to the backyard of her house where Zoe is place. Zoe has a neighbour. A big black German Shepherd. At the backyard, she can walk here and there, have a crate for her, awning to prevent from rain. You're one lucky girl Zoe. Melissa said that Zoe would starve herself until she can get human food. She refused to eat kibbles. I do wonder after the time she went missing, she refused to eat kibbles. Although I brought her favourite kibbles. When she met me, she keep on poking my hand with her nose. I miss you too darling! I spent about 30 minutes with Zoe and Melissa. Melissa said she will foster Zoe until someone adopt her. Yay!!! Zoe is a very lucky girl!

I'm a lucky girl!!
